Michigan State is on a mission to prove who is the most dominant team in the Big Ten, and Purdue will be the next unfortunate opponent upon whom they test their top-10 credentials.
The No. 6-ranked Spartans lead the conference with an 18-2 record (9-0 in Big Ten games this season), but the Boilermakers recently impressed in a win over No. 25 Indiana and will go in search of an upset on Sunday.

What was looking like a miserable campaign for Purdue has recently transformed into a much more hopeful season after the team won seven of their last eight matches stretching back to December 20.
But Michigan State is eyeing a prized place in March and are on the verge of extending a school record of 21 consecutive wins against Big Ten opponents. Head coach Tom Izzo is in his 24th season with the team and is eyeing a second NCAA title this year.
Carsen Edwards, 20, has been Purdue’s top scorer in each of their 19 matches this season and currently leads the team in points per game (24.7) and assists per game (3.5). The point guard has snatched 47 points in his past two outings and consistently stands out as the match-winner among coach Matt Painter’s side.
Michigan State has spread the scoring load across their roster and has an assist machine in Cassius Winston, who’s made 7.3 per game—more than double Edwards’ tally.
The Spartans have won their last two matchups against Purdue but lost in two of their last three trips to the Mackey Center and will be on their guard come Sunday.
